My Smile

EVERY SMILE HAS A STORY

We are here to help you understand your smile and the effort a dentist makes to make it more beautiful.

As told by Mother Teresa, “Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing.”

Smiling can also boost your overall health. The act of smiling actually uplifts the mood, improves your relationships and boost your personality. It is a well known fact that smile helps the immune system to function more effectively because you are more relaxed (thanks to the release of certain neurotransmitters).

As God has given humans such a beautiful gift of the ability to smile, so there should not be any hinderance in one’s smiling openly, especially if one has badly or irregularly placed teeth.

So, these orthodontists come into the picture who are dental specialists trained to diagnose and treat oral health conditions of your teeth, gums, and mouth but mostly they focus on making sure to straighten crooked teeth, fix bad bites and align the jaws correctly.

Smile and the world smiles with you.

Correction of Irregular Teeth

Considering your age, need, budget and life style, the General Dentist in association with the Orthodontist will suggest you various methods of treatment for optimal results. There are many reasons you might consider to go for an orthodontic treatment like straightening of the crooked teeth, reducing gaps between your teeth or correction misaligned teeth. An orthodontist can help with misaligned jaws or bite problems that can cause pain or clicking while chewing. Your orthodontist may also be able to help in some cases of sleep apnoea or to correct issues caused by prolonged habits such as thumb sucking, nail biting, tongue thrusting etc.

VARIOUS ORTHODONTIC PROBLEMS

TYPES OF BRACES

Metal Braces

Traditional Metal braces are made from a high-grade stainless steel and have metal brackets that are attached to each tooth using a type of cement. The brackets are linked to each other with a thin arch wire, which puts pressure on the teeth to cause them to move slowly into the correct position. The

arch wires are connected to the brackets using tiny elastics known as ligatures or O-rings, which your orthodontist will change each time he tightens the braces.

Ceramic or Transparent Braces

These work in the same way as metal braces, but the brackets are made from a clear, transparent ceramic material. The braces are less visible to others, which makes them a popular choice for adults who need orthodontic treatment.

Lingual Braces

If you don't want braces which are more or less visible outside then you have the choice of Lingual Braces.  Lingual

braces look just like traditional metal ones, but are placed behind your teeth out of the public eye to give you a more discreet smile-correcting experience. Lingual Braces are not ideal for all the patients.

Clear Aligners

Clear aligner is another option available for correction of your irregular teeth without using the braces (metal or ceramic braces). This involves a range of clear plastic aligners that resemble mouth guards, which are custom-made for you. They are removable for eating and cleaning, and you change them out for a newly made aligner every two weeks. Each new aligner takes the adjustment of your teeth one step further.
